The Junior Scientist is responsible for daily operations of the cell therapy Laboratory and ensures 24/7 lab coverage in support of in-house cell therapy manufacturing. This position will assist the laboratory director in the employment of personnel and compliance with regulatory standards. Overseeing the technical accuracy and medical reliability of existing and newly implemented laboratory procedures. Maintain an effective working relationship with the lab staff, clinical teams, accrediting and regulatory agencies, and larger medical community's.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the setup an organization of a new cell therapy facility team at MECACT, serving as a cell culture, gene transduction and process development subject matter expert on a cross-functional team

Ensure that testing systems provide quality services for all aspects of test performance, which includes the pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic phase of testing

Ensure that verification procedures used are adequate to determine the accuracy, precision, and other pertinent performance characteristics of the method

Ensure that consultation is available to the laboratory's clients on matters relating to the quality of the test results reported and their interpretation concerning specific patient conditions

Participate in the writing and review of procedure manuals

Review and approve QC procedures for each test system. Identify failures in lab quality as they occur. Ensure that all necessary remedial actions are taken and documented whenever significant deviations from the laboratory's established performance characteristics are identified

Provide continuing education to laboratory staff

Requirements

PhD Required

3 Years work experience

Post doctoral training and industry experience in Cell therapies

Knowledge of transplant immunology and immunogenetics

Knowledge of regulations and standards of regulatory agencies: CLIA, and ASHI
