The Perioperative Services Administrative Officer serves a key role in maintaining a dynamic and diverse workforce providing care to patients requiring surgical and procedural intervention. Under the guidance of the Perioperative Services HR Business Partner, this position is responsible for the overall coordination of the Operating Room department's human resources recruitment activities. This position manages the job requisition process from beginning to end. The Perioperative Services Administrative Officer will work collaboratively with HR Talent Acquisition Partners, coordinate various HR operational activities, assist leadership and management to resolve HR challenges, and develop effective HR solutions. While exercising initiative, originality, and judgment; this position will identify potential issues of concern, recommend and follow-up on solutions to achieve desired outcomes and/or to continually seek opportunities to improve departmental processes.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelors degree or any combination of education and relevant work experience would be appropriate.
- Experience and knowledge in human resources, practices, policies, and procedures is required.
- Experience in human resources, recruiting, selecting and hiring employees is required.
- Organizational skills and initiative to manage and drive complex, time sensitive recruitment activities to meet goals and deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills including using Office programs such as Word, Excel spreadsheet, Outlook or database.
- Ability and willingness to learn and use new software applications quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge of state and federal labor and employment laws and regulations preferred.
- Demonstrated verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively with the target audience. Demonstrated skill preparing professional documents/reports/correspondence with appropriate prose, formatting, and context.
- Strong customer service orientation interacting with staff, executives, members of the hospital community and patients in a professional clear, informative, and diplomatic manner.
- Critical thinking and judgment to analyze options and solve problems independently.
- Must be resourceful and diplomatic; highly organized with knowledge of priority-setting strategies; adept at initiating actions for effective resolution and follow through; able to develop and maintain positive professional working relationships with internal and external clients.
- Strong initiative, ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines while maintaining a high level of productivity.
- Tact and sensitivity to deal with a wide array of issues including confidential matters exercising sound judgment. Proper judgement to protect, share, determine the appropriate release of sensitive/confidential personnel information.

Perioperative Services is a large division comprised departments including the Operating Room, Children's Surgery Center, Same Day Surgery Center, Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Department, Surgical Admissions Center, Anesthesia, Central Processing Department, GI Lab and Interventional Pulmonary Procedural Department.

Work Environment
UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
