Senior Test Engineer

Job Description

Lead efforts to evaluate and test cloud deployments and other IT Services to ensure minimal service disruption and high service availability, identifying and alerting to issues as early in the development process as possible. Evaluates the applicability of a broad range of information systems issues, including hardware/software integration, compatibility and multiple platforms. Evaluates the effectiveness and applicability of a broad range of information systems. Works with Test Engineer to develop test cases and formal test plans to implement large information system. Provides testing input for program engineering and acquisition documents and products. Test software system and reports defects

clearly and concisely. Tracks all system bugs and discrepancies, ensuring software engineers resolve and incorporate necessary fixes. Performs complex and repetitive testing to ensure computer system conforms to specifications, leveraging automation and other tools.

Education

Master's (10 years work experience) or Bachelor's degree (14 years work experience) in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)

Certification(s)

• Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer
• Certification with recognized Cloud Computing vendor such as AWS or Azure
• Cyber security certifications are desirable

Required Knowledge

• Secret clearance a must
• Leading efforts in testing cloud-based applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security in cloud environments
• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to ensure the functionality, performance, and security of software applications
• Experience integrating testing with modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS)
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Selecting the appropriate testing solutions and requirements to align with reliability, cost, and other factors to achieve project goals
• Identifying appropriate use of cloud architectural best practices, including pushing security, reliability, and stability initiatives left to reduce rework
• Providing tasking and oversight over other technical members of the team to improve processes, including junior test engineers to build a culture of quality
• Reviews final work products for correctness and adherence to design concepts

Desirable skills and abilities

• Conversant with executive leadership to extract program goals and translate to technical requirements
• Ability understand business goals, needs, and requirements and promote efficient and effective technical solutions that drive success
• Experience working with FedRAMP, FISMA, and other DoD compliance Frameworks to ensure system security over the development lifetime
