What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health
Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes. Transportation plans, controls and implements processes for the storage and movement of finished goods and materials to drive operational efficiency in the organization's supply chain. This job family develops strategies for the use of internal Transportation capabilities versus third party logistics services. Transportation tracks all movement of product throughout each step in the supply chain, proactively identifies logistical risks, and addresses logistical issues to ensure on-time fulfillment of customer commitments.

Job Summary

The Senior Transportation Analyst will be responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments from the Consumer Health Logistics Center to the Cardinal Health pharmaceutical forward distribution centers nationwide. This role will interact directly with the onsite operational teams, provide customer service, problem solve issues, and innovate ways to improve service levels and reduce cost.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm, Sunday as needed

Location: Groveport, OH - Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC)

Responsibilities

  • Manage key transportation data elements to support shipment planning, execution and expense management.
  • Problem solving and communicating via email and in person to customer requests and issues.
  • Develop and maintain excel based databases including weekly schedules, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), etc.
  • Analyze and present data in a highly proficient, concise manner using Excel through key functions such as VLOOKUP, IF Statements and use of Pivot Tables.
  • Ensure that customers have a positive experience; commits to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions.
  • Accountable for ensuring the timely release of shipments.
  • Provide KPI data and documentation for the network.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve specific goals.
  • Identify and analyze routine system issues, documents occurrences, recommends a resolution path and acts with partner teams to resolve them.
  • Responsible for making strategic decisions that affect the daily transportation of inventory valued at millions of dollars.
  • Effectively collaborate with CHLC operations and customer forward distribution centers (FDCs) to foster a strong culture of teamwork.
  • Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces.
  • Able to adapt to change and work autonomously.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Works well in MS Office with proficient abilities in Excel (VLOOKUP, IF Statements, Pivot Tables) highly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills desired
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving, and decision-making skillspreferred
  • Strong analytical abilities and proficient in working with large subsets of data preferred
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of logistics processes and systems, including warehouse management systemspreferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment
  • Ability to work as a team and proactively assist team members as necessary
  • Excellent time management and organization skills

Anticipated hourly range:$27 per hour - $38.70 per hour
