  • Estimated annual base pay: $114,400 (minimum) - $143,000 (midpoint) - $171,600(maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Labor & Employment Attorney, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Woodward, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel, Labor & Employment to join our Legal team and provide strategic counsel on employment law matters across our U.S. and international operations. This role will work closely with senior leaders, HR, and business partners to ensure compliance with employment-related laws and regulations while supporting initiatives that align with our core values of integrity, being respectful and accountable to one another, and maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Legal Advisory Services: Provide expert employment law and traditional labor advice to internal clients across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential legal risks in employment practices and develop proactive strategies to mitigate litigation and compliance risks.
  • Litigation Support: Manage and respond to employment-related claims, including supporting lead in-house litigation counsel and outside counsel, including coordinating discovery and investigations.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Support and mentor junior legal team members and cross-functional partners in HR and compliance.

What We Are Looking For

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and admission to a U.S. state bar.
  • 7+ years of employment law experience, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house counsel experience in aerospace, defense, or a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and state-specific regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law, including experience in labor negotiations and arbitrations.
  • Experience with employment-related litigation and managing internal investigations.
  • Exceptional judgment, business acumen, and the ability to align legal advice with organizational objectives.
