PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $169,200.00-$206,700.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $131,800.00 - $244,400.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Bridge Business and Tech: Partner closely with stakeholders to align technology strategies with evolving business objectives and member needs.
  • Lead with Vision: Develop and own technology roadmaps that support enterprise goals in cloud, data, APIs, DevOps, and platform modernization.
  • Drive Delivery Excellence: Manage engineering teams and technical delivery across both strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Inspire and Grow Talent: Mentor a high-performing team with a focus on ownership, agility, and professional development. Conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Champion Agile Practices: Integrate Agile methodologies into workflows, ensuring alignment between business priorities and delivery teams.
  • Elevate Engineering Standards: Improve practices across the software development lifecycle including quality, automation, and CI/CD.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Coordinate with Architecture, DBE, PMO, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable and cohesive solutions.
  • Oversee Strategic Planning: Contribute to the annual operating plan and governance activities, while managing financials, vendor contracts, and technology investments.
  • Spot Innovation Opportunities: Stay ahead of tech trends, identify market innovations, and drive continuous improvement and optimization within your team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience in a technology setting.
  • 5+ years of IT experience with deep expertise in application design, software development, and solution architecture.
  • Experience building technology platforms and managing delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale technology initiatives in financial services, especially in lending products such as mortgage, auto loans, personal loans, and credit cards.
  • Proven success managing platform implementations, migrations, and integrations in regulated environments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced or technical certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, PMP, SAFe) degree preferred.
  • Experience communicating technical design with product and business teams.
  • Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and DevOps delivery models.
  • Strong technical acumen in software engineering, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release management, and infrastructure as code.
  • Passion for developing high-performance teams, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement.
