Product Engineer I

Summary: Identifies business opportunities and executes marketing strategies to win business. Serves as an engineering expert in assisting consulting engineering organizations with determining the best product for the job and promoting McQuay solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Calls on management representatives such as engineers, architects, or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments and attempts to convince prospective client of desirability and practicability of products or services offered.

Identify business opportunities & executes marketing strategies to win business (via independent sales representatives) primarily through consultants in the assigned territory.

Provides and develops technical information and brochures (in coordination with Marketing Communications Dept.) primarily to consultants in assigned territory.

Provides information to architects and consultants regarding the value that McQuay can bring to assist in producing Green/LEED projects.

Provides technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.

Draws up sales or service contract for products or services.

Frequent travel required.

Provides technical training to employees of client.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university and seven to ten years related experience working in the HVAC industry. Marketing experience or MBA degree, preferred. LEED, environmental, "Green" experience. LEED AP preferred or willingness to achieve certification.
