Summary:
The Sr I&E Specialist for ET Genco is responsible for performing operations, maintenance, diagnostics, and field repairs of ET Genco assets, as well as providing excellent customer service, and keeping accurate records. The Sr I&E Specialist will also serve as a leader for projects and work with other technical team members in the division to ensure operations and maintenance activities are consistent across the division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:




  • Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on generator systems
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostic testing, and start-ups
  • Primary technical areas include Medium Voltage operations/controls, Switch gear operations/maintenance, controls and automation, engine/generator controls, pneumatics, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Provide expert-level assistance with Power Systems and Medium Voltage Switch Gear
  • Provide expert-level assistance with PLC, process control commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Maintaining a parts inventory for the locations
  • Identifies causes of generator problems and/or failures
  • Participate in "On-Call" rotation
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of generators both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed
  • Effectively communicate with customers and the ET Genco team
  • Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO)
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Education:


  • High school diploma or GED


Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum 6 years of related experience or equivalent combination of both education and experience
  • Possess knowledge and background to be an SME for instrumentation & electrical control systems
  • In-depth knowledge of Company procedures and Industry-related standards, codes, and practices, and applicable Federal and State regulations
  • Knowledgeable with Natural Gas Operating Procedures, Engineering Standards, OSHA, and Safety practices
  • Must be open to working overtime, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed
  • Previous experience working on industrial generators or gas engines
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working with Industry Standards and Specifications in the Electric and Power disciplines (NEC, NFPA 70E, Low Voltage < 5kV, Medium Voltage 5kV-15kV)
  • Must have a good operating knowledge of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley RSLOGIX5000 & RSLink
  • The ability to participate in an on-call, rotating schedule (On call 24/7)
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Must have strong self-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group environment



Preferred Qualifications:


  • State Electrical License
  • Associate's degree in Instrumentation
  • Related software and system certifications (i.e. Factory Talk, Delta V, etc.)

  1. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions
  2. Repetitively standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, and climbing ladders up to 25 feet. Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
  3. Working conditions may include confined spaces
  4. Subject to callouts to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays
  5. Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment
  6. Reliable attendance at work
  7. Occasional overnight travel may be required
