Zayo is seeking a Staff Accountantto join theAccountinggroup to handle a broad range ofaccountingfunctions including month-end close, journal entry preparation and entry, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and monthly accruals.

*We're open to this position working in a hybrid capacity out of our downtown Denver, CO office (1401 Wynkoop).

Responsibilities:

  • Compensation and Benefits and SG&A expense accruals and reclassifications

  • Assist with month end close duties including variance analysis and accrual calculations for cost center groups

  • General ledger data summary and variance analysis using financial reports

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Partner with FP&A for cost center reporting

  • Variance analysis, reporting monthly results to management and working with AP/AR function to ensure accuracy

  • Support Accounting Manager on projects, process improvements and workflow documentations

  • Other ad hoc projects as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field

  • Minimum of 5 (five) years of accounting experience in a professional setting

  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Exceptional knowledge and proficiency in Excel

  • Experience working with Oracle Fusion, a plus

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry, a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Organized with the ability to manage priorities on a deadline and a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively

  • Excellent analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills with the ability to adapt to change

  • Strong sense of teamworkand work ethic with a positive attitude

  • A self-motivator able to take initiative to look into the details, propose efficient ways to improve the financials and support the business, with a focus on continuous process improvement

Estimated Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,000 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
