Inova Center of Personalized Health is looking for a dedicated Continuous Improvement Specialist to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift from Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Continuous Improvement Specialist leads multiple systemwide projects, focused on helping Inova achieve its mission. Leads the team through complex problem-solving, while keeping our patients and team members at the center of the system of care. Works in cross-functional teams to solve the biggest problems facing the health system. Works on multiple projects, coaching executive leadership team, while using continuous improvement and project management methodologies to drive initiatives forward.

Continuous Improvement Specialist Job Responsibilities


  • Partners with leaders to support high-profile projects that transform the way we care for patients across our health system, often advising and coaching system-wide projects sponsored by C-Suite team members.
  • Drives cross-functional teams through a methodical process to assess, improve and sustain results while leveraging Project Management and Continuous Improvement best practices.
  • Manages project communications which includes executive-level presentations.
  • Coaches clinical and system service team members (including senior leaders) in Continuous Improvement fundamentals.
  • Applies and teaches the Continuous Improvement toolset (DMAIC, process mapping, standard work, visual management, as examples) for use in a variety of settings including clinical, support, and executive.
  • Participates in creating and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization by encouraging employees to identify areas for improvement and contributing to the development of a more efficient and effective organization.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends and best practices by identifying opportunities for implementing new technology and processes to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Proactively drives stakeholder management to achieve the desired project outcomes and to enhance the brand of our department across the health system.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Continuous Improvement Specialist Additional Requirements

Work Schedule - 8-hour shift (Monday-Friday days, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p. m.)

Experience - 2 years of relevant experience

Education - Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)

Continuous Improvement Specialist Preferred Requirements:



  • 4+ years of experience leading continuous improvement or process optimization initiatives, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement data-driven solutions to enhance quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or other analytics software).
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive measurable results.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and change management skills to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
