General Information:

The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts/College of Visual & Performing Arts is seeking a Theatre Management Associate. The Center hosts over 200 ticketed performances a year and up to 90 non-ticketed recitals/events including theatre, dance, and music. The Center is the premier performing arts Center in the Shenandoah Valley.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Manage all house management and usher scheduling and reporting
-Hire and manage student house managers
-Schedule and host usher trainings and oversee usher recruitment
-Work with Box Office Manager to prepare daily deposits, sell tickets when necessary, provide staff supervision and guidance as called upon
-Prepare Box Office Revenue payouts
-Work with Aramark (catering and dining services) on reception contract preparation
-Manage all event, conference support, set up and take down, and front of house staffing
-Arrange for all housing, transportation, details to support artist bookings
-Prepare hotel billings and work with Accounts Payable
-Advance all hospitality details and prepare written itineraries for visiting artists

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
-Must be able to work weekends, early mornings, and late evenings on a rotating weekly schedule basis
-Excellent customer service skills
-Employee management, hiring and training experience
-Ability to work independently
-Detail oriented and able to work under tight deadlines and a fast-paced environment
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
-Basic bookkeeping skills

Additional Considerations:
-Knowledge of and work experience in the performing arts is beneficial but not required
