SCOPE/CONTACTS:

Incumbent has frequent contact with customers, loan officers and other bank department employees. Customer contact is facetoface, by telephone, and by written correspondence. Incumbent leads or guides staff and provides on-the-job training when needed. Physical effort required is average.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review collection activity on seriously delinquent consumer loans and NSF accounts in a manner that retains the good will of customers while maintaining delinquency percentages at predetermined standards in order to minimize credit losses.
  • Direct recovery efforts to maximize collection of charge offs.
  • Review any potential foreclosure and maintain it through any loss mitigation. Refer to attorney at the appropriate time.
  • Review paperwork on bankruptcies to determine the best course of action. Refer to attorney if needed and at the appropriate time.
  • Review charge off amounts for possible legal action.
  • Actively participate in the sales and service culture for First Financial Bank of Abilene, support the values of the organization, and follow established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain a positive and professional image for the bank.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Eight years lending collections experience.
  • Knowledge of automobile sales, mechanics, and values.
  • Must be knowledgeable of collection laws.
  • Most important qualities are diplomacy, dependability, initiative, accuracy, motivation and professional demeanor.
