Mechanical Construction Estimator (Harrisburg, PA)

• Review plans, specifications, drawings to determine the cost of the project.
• Analyze time, material, and manpower requirements for each project.
• Perform material takeoffs and develop a written estimate of cost to perform the work according to the specifications.
• Provide the Estimating Manager with a detailed cost estimate, corresponding proposal letter and bid form breakout and take over ownership of the project.
• Interface with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to determine the cost of the project. Gather information to determine subcontractor and vendor suitability and aggressively gain the best pricing.
• Visit customer field locations as required to ascertain project conditions.
• Attend pre and post bid meetings as required and be able to effectively present information to clients to sell our projects.
• Select pool of potential subcontractors and equipment vendors to solicit their proposals.
• Analyze special safety and code requirements on all projects.
• Work as part of an integrated team in acquiring projects.
• Properly turns over bid documents to Project Management in a timely manner.

• Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.

• 2-10+ years of experience in a similar Mechanical Estimator position.
• A two-year degree from a community college, trade school or equivalent, or Bachelor's Degree.
• Sheet metal and piping experience preferred, or be willing to be cross trained in both.
• Self-motivated, possess strong communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Estimation or Quickpen).

• Ability to climb a ladder, when on a jobsite
• Ability to walk at least 1 mile, when on a jobsite
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in hot environments; including but not limited to full sleeves, glasses, hardhat & steel toed boots in summer temperatures, when on a jobsite
