QA LAB TECHNICIAN I

Job Category: Regular Full-Time

This position is in our Lawrenceburg, Kentucky location.

Applicants must be available to work Monday - Saturday, during either 1st or 2nd shift. Shift differential is available for 2nd shift.

QA Lab Technicians must be self-motivated and reliable. Other duties may include but are not limited to:

• Collect product samples for analytical and microbiological testing, customer samples, retain samples, and/or other purposes as required. Preview food safety and quality records.
• Perform physical, chemical, and organoleptic analyses on finished product, in-process, and ingredient samples.
• Verify finished product samples for packaging, label, and weight compliance.
• Act as a resource to production during label and or formula changeovers.
• Provide feedback to production personnel on testing/inspection results.
• Perform food safety and quality monitoring and verification activities per FSQ plan procedures; provide troubleshooting assistance when needed.
• Ensure a smooth flow of operations with minimal interruptions.
• Contact support personnel when needed, i.e. maintenance, electricians, supervisor and relay pertinent information.
• Complete all necessary documentation, and coordination of own breaks.
• Identify and hold non-conforming products in warehouse management system; complete NC documentation and apply visual hold tags to affected pallets as directed by QA Technician Lead.
• Verify sanitation effectiveness on equipment by visual check and ATP analysis.
• Collect environmental samples, including surface swabs, air samples, and water samples.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Regular and reliable physical attendance at the work location is an essential function of this position.

• High school diploma/GED required
• At least 2 years of college with courses in Microbiology, Biology, and/or Chemistry is preferred but not required.
• Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
• Understanding of basic mathematical and chemical concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and an understanding of other software, web-based applications, and internet search functions preferred.
