Senior Scientist - Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Category: Life Science Employment Type: Direct Hire Reference: BH-383930 Yoh is hiring a Part Time Senior Scientist - Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) for our South San Francisco, CA client. The Part Time Senior Scientist - Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) will be a highly skilled, motivated, and scientifically curious individual with a strong background in NMR and structural elucidation to join our analytical chemistry group in the pursuit of novel small molecules. Industry: Discovery and Development Location: South San Francisco, CA Compensation: $60-$80/hr (based upon experience) Type: Part time (8-16 hours/week) Job Functions: Maintain a Bruker 400 MHz NMR Perform 1D and 2D NMR experiments, and analyze data to determine small-molecule structures. Perform basic QC of NMR spectra generated by external partners. Partner with the Medicinal Chemistry group (both internal and external chemists) to support Discovery Research, and may also support other functions as needed. Contribute to writing reports, publications, and patents as needed. Work in a dynamic, multi-functional environment, and your work will be critical to achieving aggressive research goals. Ultimately, you will contribute to the company's mission to impact patients with severe cancers. Education, Licensure, and/or Experience Ph.D. in analytical chemistry or equivalent with specialization in NMR and structure elucidation 5+ years of industry experience in analytical chemistry Experience maintaining a NMR, troubleshooting issues that arise, and interfacing with vendors as needed Experience determining complex small molecule structures, including bond connectivity and stereochemistry, using 1D and 2D NMR and other modern techniques as necessary Experience determining purity using quantitative NMR techniques Ability to work with external CRO partners if needed and to QC NMR spectra produced externally Experience running fragment screening campaigns (especially ligand-detected F-NMR) is preferred Ability to maintain high-quality records in e-notebooks with the appropriate experimental details and characterization data for publications and patent filings Ability to interact with teams to understand project needs Ability to clearly communicate results, issues, and accomplishments to others Estimated Min Rate: $60.00 Estimated Max Rate: $80.00 #IND-SPG Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
