FlexStaff Job Description: FlexStaff is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Office Assistant/Insurance Specialist to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will provide essential clerical support and administrative duties, ensuring the efficient operation of the office. Key responsibilities include answering phones, sorting and distributing mail, preparing documents, overseeing the petty cash fund, and maintaining office supply inventory. You will also manage office files, implementing an efficient system for accessibility and organization. This position is located in Branford CT As an Office Assistant/Insurance Specialist, you will obtain accurate insurance information, verify and pre-authorize insurance claims, and ensure timely and accurate billing processes. Additionally, you will review clinician charts for completeness, monitor key statistics related to sales, revenue, cash, and patient flow, and coordinate practitioner schedules to optimize patient appointments. The role also includes training and supervising administrative staff while maintaining a high level of customer service. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in office administration or related field preferred. - Minimum of three years of administrative and clerical experience required. - At least three years of healthcare billing/collections experience required; experience in Orthopedics preferred. - Complete understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology. - Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. - Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with automated billing systems (O&P Software Medflex/OPIE preferred). - Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks. - Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
