Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading the creation and execution of a data management program for critical data in the Customer sphere. This team will work cross-functionally to ensure we are compliant with data management regulations, process, and procedures. This includes derisking data exposure, developing a customer data governance model for data lifecycle improved by our system architecture & application use, and managing risk & integrity of data.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Senior Director, Infrastructure and Operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads the team that captures and catalogues all customer master data along with data owners. Manage data sets to derisk exposure and ensure appropriate use cases.
- Implementing an oversight process to ensure appropriate use cases and use of data. Governing the integrity of data and how that data is used internally and externally.
- Set the vision and implementing a strategy for the broader C&ES enforcing data validations, or process changes. The strategy is how we create the lasting change that will benefit our customers and coworkers.
- Translates the business capability needs and requirements of the PG&E lines of business into a comprehensive, integrated data management strategy and roadmap. Drives consistency of data asset management plan development and implementation.
- Execute on foundational data maturity activities identified in the Enterprise Data Management program's strategy.
- Partners with IT to support the creation of trusted data sources.
- Delivers data quality improvement projects that enable risk-informed, data-driven decisions.
- Effectively communicates developments relating to the data governance, management and integrity across the company, including increasing the company's data literacy.
- Provides regular reporting and status updates to ensure business and IT leadership are kept informed of project status, issues and risk.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with data asset family owners, lines of business, and external agencies to understand business requirements, resolve issues, and improve customer outcomes.
- May be required to organize, schedule, coordinate and lead communities of practice or other working groups, both temporary and ongoing, to accomplish assigned objectives.
- Identifies, defines and escalates issues related to data security, data access, data ownership, and data governance policy, standards, and procedures. Ensures data-related issues and risks are appropriately surfaced and resolved.

Compensation
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle of the range ($251,000), the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.
A reasonable salary range in the Bay Area is:
Minimum: $186,000
Maximum: $316,000
A reasonable salary range in California (outside of the Bay Area) is:
Minimum: $177,000
Maximum: $300,000
Background Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or job-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of relevant job experience
