SUMMARY OF DUTIES

This position is responsible for managing the Molding Tool Room, Mold Repair Technicians, Tool Makers and Mold Makers. Oversee the root cause investigation and implement corrective & preventative actions for mold damage and wear. Manage the build, cost and quality of mold spares and repairs at both external vendors and within the Molding Tool Room. Ensures conformance to Good Manufacturing Practices and standards, international quality system requirements, and strategic planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

1. Manages employees by interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, disciplining, firing and other related duties.
2. Maintains employee documentation such as training, performance evaluations, personnel requisitions and other related material.
3. Manages work schedules and training.
4. Interacts with outside vendors to receive quotes and order spare/replacement mold components.
5. Oversees component inventory to balance supply and deliver requirements with inventory dollars.
6. Makes decisions regarding internal build vs. buying of components, repairs etc.
7. Assists in the design of replacement production molds for part quality and production needs.
8. Supports R&D with new mold designs to ensure longevity and repair ease of molds.
9. Works with process engineers to improve process, reduce scrap rates and part quality.
10. Manages design changes to existing and new molds.
11. Works with OEM Project Engineers on new part designs, new molds, components and materials.
12. Works with Manufacturing Engineers to improve product quality, design changes and increased production needs.
13. Works with Quality Engineers on RGA's and NC's to resolve product quality issues.
14. Works with scheduling to send out molds for refurbishment and repairs.
15. Ensures that personnel follow and comply with quality system requirements and all molding specifications.
16. Performs root cause analysis of problems and provides plans for corrective action.
17. Ensures employees understand and adhere to safety guidelines and practices.
18. Performs other duties and tasks as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Education and/or experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree.
* A minimum of six years molding experience, including two years of related supervisory experience.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Detail oriented.
* Demonstrated ability to determine root cause and creatively solve molding problems and issues.
