Overview

The Director of Home Care & Hospice is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining programs, policies, and management systems to promote efficient and effective delivery of high quality care and to maintain financial viability of home health and hospice business units. Provides supervision and management of clinical programs providing 24/7 customer focused service delivery, and ensuring high quality, cost effective services that lead to best practice performance with maximum and timely reimbursement.


Qualifications

Certifications:

  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) and
  • National Nursing Certification within 3 years

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Nursing or
  • Bachelor's Degree, Related Field

Work Experience:

  • Home Health & Hospice Leadership

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, vision, and management to assigned department(s).
  • Establishes departmental strategic direction
  • Develops appropriate tactical plans tactics
  • Meet current and future strategic objectives consistent with industry standards for delivery and coordination of all home services.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
  • Captures all legitimate revenue; conservative in expenses and resource use
  • Provides appropriate and high quality service to patients.
  • Oversees the selection, training, and evaluations of all personnel functions throughout the departments/regions including, but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary issues.
  • Responsible for formulation of budgets, cost containment strategies, and ongoing financial/revenue cycle review and analysis.
  • Ensures reaccreditation and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Coordinates Quality Improvement activities with timely implementation of corrective action plans and ongoing monitoring.
  • Prepares necessary reports for the Board of Directors and other necessary stakeholders as indicated and within time frames.
  • Develops and implements marketing activities and plans to ensure attainment of budgeted volume levels.
  • Contributes to the operational and clinical objectives of the fully vertically integrated health system through collaboration with system leadership.
  • Recruits, directs, and develops a dynamic team dedicated to attaining optimal outcomes.
  • Provides leadership, vision, and management to assigned department(s).
  • Establishes departmental strategic direction
  • Develops appropriate tactical plans tactics

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $50.67per hour - $87.15per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
