Wrap, band, box and prepare truck shipments.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Pack regular orders and touch up all materials when necessary or return materials to proper location if unable to ship.

  • Run labels/BOL for shipments.

  • Build pallets and crates.

  • Load and unload trucks.

  • Check shipping copies and bills of lading for accuracy.

  • Maintain housekeeping standards.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in shipping/receiving in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in using a computer, including MS Office and data-based systems (MRP).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee constantly is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is constantly required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

*WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts, forklifts, etc.
