Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) bank-wide, multi-department initiatives using appropriate project management methodologies that provide consistency and frameworks focused on managing expectations of the sponsor and team. Identifies critical steps such as definition of scope, success, worst-case, budget, required resources, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. Understands project objectives, assembles project teams, works closely with third-party vendors on co-managed projects, defines and motivates team members' roles and functions to effectively coordinate the activities of the team to achieve objectives and is responsible for the overall success of assigned projects. This position will hold a high level of responsibility of implementing project management strategies for the Bank. Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify and select project team members, defining groups and project phases, and ensuring alignment with project goals.
Oversee scheduling and time requirements for team members, ensuring tasks are completed on time and expectations are managed. Provide Executive Management with financial analysis, cost estimates, and ROI projections for projects. Propose solutions, approaches, and methodologies (e.g., conducting research, reengineering), including estimates for resources, time, personnel, and budget. Standardize communication and reporting procedures to ensure efficient information exchange across project teams, particularly for large-scale projects. Clearly define project requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure understanding among management and the project team. Identify success criteria and apply quantitative measurements to keep projects within scope and minimize risks. Monitor project budgets to assess and control expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial goals. Manage tasks, testing, and project consistency while ensuring effective communication and expectation management.* Demonstrate a deep understanding of business principles, project management methodologies, and workflow structures. Oversee project documentation to ensure adequate auditing and compliance.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of project management experience in the Financial Services Industry or a professional Management Consulting Firm.
Experience in managing end to end project lifecycles. Excellent understanding and experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean and/or Six Sigma). Excellent project management, organization, and team collaboration skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions at the moment. Comfort with ambiguity, frequent change, unpredictability and a fast-paced work environment. Excellent data analysis, reporting, and business process analysis skills. Excellent project/time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to manage projects with little to no oversight. Strong knowledge of business objectives. Strong cultural change practices. In-depth understanding of project management concepts. - PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field. Required
