ITQ Technologist - Dairy Innovation

OVERVIEW

The Yogurt R&D team seeks a skilled Technologist to contribute to the success of our iconic brands: Yoplait, Go-Gurt, Oui and :ratio. This role will support innovation, renovation, and/or process improvement within our yogurt team, working on projects across all stages of development-from initial prototyping to manufacturing scale-up.

This position requires strong technical and critical problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. You will have opportunities to advance projects, build cross-functional partnerships, and develop technical expertise across our yogurt portfolio.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Plan and execute experiments (in labs and pilot plant) working with Scientists/Engineers
• Coordinate and execute experiments from bench top to full scale manufacturing, including consumer testing
• Analyze experimental data and extract learning (i.e. shelf life analysis)
• Collect data both manually and electronically; conduct basic data analysis; organize and document data and learnings for future use
• Procure and manage materials; manage and maintain pilot plant areas and lab spaces
• Build and leverage internal and external network (i.e. manufacturing facilities, suppliers) to support and execute work (lead and own portions of work or projects)
• Support early consumer focused design and feasibility activities across the innovation process
• Be comfortable in the fluid continuous learning cycles of innovation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-Year Degree or High School Degree w/2+ years of directly relatable experience
• Foundational knowledge of product development and food science principles
• Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
• Understanding of food safety and human safety
• Ability to quickly pivot and take action against learning plans
• Comfortable working iteratively at the "fuzzy front end" of projects
• Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to a team environment
• Strong self-starter and holds a high regard for quality of work
• Comfortable working in a food processing environment where you will be using lab analytical equipment and collaborate with plant processing operators to conduct experiments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experienced in processing (pilot plant or plant) environment
• Previous work experience with dairy ingredients, formulation and/or processing
• Previous bench-top prototyping experience
• Demonstrated ability to work well with external partners
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment; desire to learn new concepts quickly and apply in productive ways

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $49400.00 - $68100.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
