Hiring Department Campus Construction Job Description Summary: Perform skilled work involving the installation, maintenance and repair of masonry structure and road surfaces. Key Responsibilities: Construct, maintain and repair structures using masonry materials. Plan layout, mix bonding material, shape and lay stone, brick, tile and other masonry material using appropriate bonding agents. Repair and finish joints between stones or bricks of masonry structure. Plan layout, remove existing bonding material, mix and apply fresh bonding agent. Set forms, embed necessary reinforcing materials, pour and finish concrete, asphalt or other surfaces to specified textures. Break up existing masonry structure using power and hand tools. Install tile on floors and other areas following design specifications. Prepare surface for tiling by cleaning, filling holes with appropriate material and spreading adhesive base. Set up and dismantle scaffolding and staging, install drain tiles, waterproofs underground masonry surfaces, apply sealants, cut openings and utility access holes in masonry surface as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Shift 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday Minimum Qualifications * A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. * Experience sufficient to qualify as a journey level, with a minimum of four years of actual work in the trade, including apprentice or vocational training. * A valid driver's license may be required. * Ability on a daily basis to grasp, lift, carry and set down heavy (50-75 lbs.), climb and work from ladders, scaffolding and staging. Preferred Qualifications A valid Missouri driver's license is required.
