Job Summary:



The University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Orthopedics is seeking a Research Services Entry Professional to support quality program initiatives and clinical research projects. This position will provide on-site and virtual technical and administrative assistance for patient outcomes, clinical research studies, and quality improvement projects.

Patient Outcomes & Quality Improvement Support



  • Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting the department's patient-reported outcomes (PROs) program.
  • Communicate with patients and care teams regarding quality program participation, survey completions, and outstanding forms related to medical appointments.
  • Oversee data collection, organization, and analysis for quality research initiatives and assist in research manuscript preparation.
  • Assist in updating patient case forms with procedure-related information.
  • Attend weekly team meetings to provide updates on quality projects and research initiatives.


Research Support & Data Collection



  • Assist with clinical research trials, including screening potential participants and obtaining patient medical histories.
  • Maintain research regulatory compliance, ensuring that all protocols meet FDA and institutional review board (IRB) standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and organize quantitative and qualitative data related to clinical and quality improvement research projects.
  • Help in the preparation of presentations, conference materials, and scholarly publications.


Administrative & Technical Support



  • Provide on-site and virtual support for faculty, staff, and affiliated clinical teams using research and patient outcomes survey platforms.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot mobile devices (iPads) used for patient-reported outcomes surveys.
  • Perform basic statistical analysis, create reports, and visualize research data for clinical and administrative use.
  • Assist in tracking research and quality projects, keeping the project team updated weekly.
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to research coordination and quality initiatives.



Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located at the Steadman Hawkins Inverness clinic in Englewood, CO. This position may also be required to travel to other UCHealth clinical sites, as well as the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in any field

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.




Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field
  • Clinical research or related experience
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)
  • Experience in clinical research, quality improvement, or healthcare administration.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (Epic EMR) and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) systems.
  • Experience writing research papers, managing data, or performing statistical analyses.


Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

$48,446 -$ 61,623

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
