What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of drilling contractors on large Coastal Plain well projects
- Review and understand well specification documents to evaluate compliance during well construction
- Compile daily field logs documenting site activities
- Communicate field observations to senior staff and clients
- Office tasks to include digitization of daily field logs and other field forms
- Attend project meetings with senior staff and assist with resolutions to technical and administrative problems
- Begin to learn how to manage project budgets and the need for change orders. Prepare invoices and assist with collection efforts
- Basic ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Consult with your supervisor to help prioritize tasks on a daily basis.
- Develop management capabilities of environmental projects including the application of technical support, with supervisory input as needed.
- Prepare environmental reports, perform analysis and provide recommendations in collaboration with senior staff
- Other duties as assigned.
Geologic Evaluations
- Initiate project set up and implementation under the direct supervision of senior staff
- Experience performing geologic logging and directing the construction of wells
- Strong ability to maintain detailed field records and communicate information to senior staff
- Communicate changing site conditions to supervisor and discuss their implications on field investigations. Implement investigation changes in the field as directed by your supervisor
- Work with senior staff to develop an understanding of the relation of field observations and sample results to findings and conclusions in the report
- Assist on Groundwater and soil investigations and media sampling.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or other Engineering degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting
- Minimum 1 year of related experience
- If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of geologic well logging
- Basic experience providing direction to drilling contractors
- Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds a number of times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains.
