Title: Graphic Designer Location: Mettawa, IL - Hybrid (Onsite 3 days, Remote 2 days) Duration: 1 year - based on performance and business needs As a Digital designer on a 1-year contract, you'll join a culturally diverse group of 90+ strategic and creative explorers at an in-house advertising agency for a biopharmaceutical company with 29,000+ employees. You'll be part of a close-knit team-senior designers, web developers, motion artists, writers, editors, and account managers-that partners with cross-functional stakeholders to support 30+ leading brands. Together, you'll develop multichannel materials for affiliates in 80+ countries. You'll love working in the modern, eco-friendly building with bright, open interior spaces. Time for a break? Responsibilities * Create digital materials: infographics, banner ads, user interfaces, emails, websites, interactive PDFs, and more * Create and update content-heavy PowerPoint presentations on Mac * Focus on user interface design for interactive modules presented on a tablet. * Interpret complex, scientific information and concepts and translate them into easy-to-understand graphs, charts, and infographics * Familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator to edit, resize, and enhance images and artwork for use within PowerPoint. * Use Acrobat to apply annotations from editors and clients * Work side by side with creative managers, writers, video editors, and account managers to complete projects. * Communicate with creative and project teams and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment * Willing to take instruction and adapt to established formatting guidelines; ability to add creative value when needed * Perform photo and vector searches on stock websites and internal databases * Work overtime when needed to complete time-sensitive projects * Conceptualize and execute materials that meet brand standards * Develop creative solutions within the confines of FDA regulations Must Have * Education + experience: Bachelor's degree in design or related discipline; 2+ years of experience working in a creative agency environment * Technical skills: Proficiency in PowerPoint; knowledge in digital design applications such asof InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Sketch, etc; fluency in Mac environment; maintain awareness of current design trends and new techniques and technology. * Soft skills: High degree of organizational skill and initiative to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment; ability to absorb and respond to constructive feedback from clients and creative management; ability to turn projects around quickly as well as good problem-solving and presentation skills; knowledge of digital mediums and tailoring design toward proper UI/UX * Resume: Tailored resume that highlights skills and experience relevant to this role * Portfolio: Portfolio must include a variety of dynamic PowerPoint presentations that showcase slide transitions, animated elements, video, data visualization, and good typography. Present other brand/design work for digital materials: infographics, banner ads, emails, and interactive PDFs * Working files: Bring working PowerPoint files and other creative digital work to interviews and be prepared to walk us through your creative thinking and problem-solving solutions. Nice to Have (but not required) * Working knowledge of Knak, Adobe Experience Manager, Sharepoint, XD, Figma Top 3-5 skills, experience or education required for this position: 1. Experience interpreting and working with clinical and scientific data to create visuals 2. Strong skills with the following: Microsoft PowerPoint, Figma, InDesign, UI/UX best practices 3. Experience designing for digital mediums such as websites, emails, phone applications 4. Ability to concisely and effectively intake client/proofing comments and apply during next creative round 5. Previous pharma experience would be helpful but not required. |
