Description

The Home for Little Wanderers, Southeast Campus/The COVE School for youth and adolescents located in Plymouth, MA is looking to hire a Seasonal Lifeguard for the summer months. The position is part-time with a need for some flexibility in hours.

Qualifications:



  • Lifeguard certification required
  • First Aid AED/CPR MA State required certifications
  • Age 18 plus required


Duties:



  • Scans the area of surveillance to make sure that youth are safe and behaving according to the rules.
  • Acts in emergency situations and provides rescue and first aid assistance up to his or her training level until medical personnel arrive.
  • Inspects the aquatic facility for unsafe conditions and for adherence to cleanliness protocols and reports any hazards to the supervisor.
  • Enforces rules consistently and fairly.
  • Fills out reports for incidents or other records for reference.
  • Collaborates with Direct Care Staff to support behavior management of youth.
  • Actively maintains swim level records of all youth and uses these levels to ensure youth are swimming safely.
  • Maintains familiarity with established program policies and procedures.


Responsibilities:



  • Performs job adequately which requires swimming endurance and strength.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Interacts professionally with facility youth and program staff and acts as a role model for youth.
  • Attends all meetings and training sessions for the aquatic facility staff.
