Position Overview


Position Summary
University College (UC) at WSSU is seeking a Coordinator of Non-Traditional and Transfer Student Support Services that will promote non-traditional and transfer student success after transition to WSSU by providing access to information and assistance with direct, individualized service; and by creating support services and activities that lead to students' sense of belonging and connection to WSSU. Student connection and involvement on campus positively contribute to a student's sense of belonging and their collegiate experience.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:

  • Plan and implement programs and services to enhance the academic and social success of nontraditional and transfer students with a focus on activities related to retention and persistence.
  • Create and share various reports with other campus constituents in order to ensure a holistic student experience.
  • Evaluate and assess program activities (e.g. student orientation, Honors Programs, etc.) related to nontraditional and transfer students in order to meet organizational goals.
  • Other duties as assigned


INFORMATION/RECORDS ADMINISTRATION:

  • Use appropriate data to develop, create and develop creative and strategic engagement.
  • Activities for transfer and non-traditional students.
  • Collaborate with other units to develop necessary evaluative and assessment tools in order to meet organizational goals

CLIENT/CUSTOMER SERVICE:
  • Work with faculty, staff, undergraduate advising services, and other academic departments on campus to provide assistance in resolving issues and concerns regarding nontraditional and transfer students.
DECISION MAKING:

  • Use information/data from various reports to provide input around programming, processes, and assessment to various constituents.
  • Research and recommend effective approaches that impact nontraditional and transfer students.

COORDINATION-OPERATIONS:

  • Use appropriate technology (banner, grades first, Microsoft office, etc.) and other available resources to create efficient processes which enhance productivity.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and processes related to serving nontraditional and transfer student accurately and effectively.

Bachelor's degree; or two or more years of equivalent education and experience may be considered -Ability to work in a team environment -Student-centered -Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
