Bachoco USA is seeking a Payroll Specialist for the Fort Smith, AR Central Offices.

Summary: Payroll Specialist manage all aspects of payroll processing for our organization. It will ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and provide excellent support to employees on payroll-related matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • ES/EX bi-weekly payrolls.
  • Verify, calculate, and issue OC checks for weekly and bi-weekly employees.
  • Process incoming mail.
  • Garnishments: Process employee garnishments (e.g., child support, tax levies, wage assignments) and ensure timely deductions and compliance with court orders.
  • 401 (k) Contributions: Process employee 401 (k) contributions and employer matches, ensuring that the correct deductions are made and reported.
  • Verify, process, and distribute W-2s, ensuring accuracy of employee tax information and timely filling.
  • Prepare payroll deduction check distribution.
  • Process Direct Deposit bank submissions and print checks.
  • Prepare employment verification responses.
  • Calculate, process, and track bi-weekly supplies, purchases, and chicken sales.
  • Reconcile Payroll related General Ledger Accounts and Bank Reconciliations.
  • Payroll taxes: Ensure accurate calculation and withholding of federal, state and local payroll taxes in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Data Entry and Reporting: Maintain accurate payroll records, prepare annual, quarterly, monthly, bi-weekly, weekly, and daily reports; and assist with payroll-related audits as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws, company policies, and industry standards regarding payroll processing.
  • Employee inquires: Address and resolve employee's inquiries regarding pay discrepancies, deductions, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related concerns.
  • Administrative support: Assist with general payroll department tasks, such as document preparation, filing, and other ad-hoc request as needed (e.g., WC reporting)



Education and/or Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
  • 1-3 three years related payroll experience, preferably experience with large payroll operation (100+ employees); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Time management: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Payroll systems (SAP ECP preferred). Excel Worksheet management: use advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas) to analyze and track payroll data, generate reports, and ensure data integrity.

Attention to detail: Strong ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all payroll-related tasks.

Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
