Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor of Communication and Media

The English & Communication Department at Nazareth University of Rochester, New York, invites applications for a one-year position in the Communication & Media Program at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor, to begin in fall 2025.

The department seeks candidates committed to teaching excellence at a comprehensive institution that supports both liberal arts and professional programs. Applicants who will contribute to the university's commitment to a diverse and inclusive environment are especially encouraged to apply.

The Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor will contribute to a program that is skill-based and culturally aware. They will teach several of the Communication & Media program's key courses: primarily Writing for Digital Media and Oral Communication, and potentially Introduction to Media Industries and/or Social Media. The teaching load is four courses per semester, generally with two or three preparations.

Candidates with a Ph.D. or who are ABD in Communication or Media Studies at time of appointment are welcome to apply, as are candidates with an M.A. in Communication or Media Studies and relevant professional experience.
