Description

The Healthcare Data Analyst Intermediate works within the Enterprise Analytics department on the Quality Measurement team. This involves manipulating and transforming data that supports quality measurement reporting for annual HEDIS submissions, prospective provider reporting, internal quality improvement initiatives, accreditation, regulatory requirements, and priority programs. This work will require communication and collaboration with internal clinical staff, program managers, IT, and other analytics teams as well as external provider partners and stakeholders.

Functional Description/Key Accountabilities



  • Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements
  • Interpret quality measurement specifications and relate to data needs
  • Create and manage /data tables to make data easily accessible
  • Track/trend data to identify potential gaps and future opportunities for additional data capture.
  • Document the data acquisition and manipulation processes
  • Consistently perform data validation on databases and reports, troubleshoot any potential bugs, and update any needed documentation to reflect changes
  • Produce accurate, complete, and timely information
  • Develop data visualizations and reports in Excel and/or QlikSense and prepare documentation
  • Provide routine data updates
  • Complete data analyses upon request
  • Conduct demonstrations and presentations for customers


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Healthcare Administration, or related quantitative discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in health care quality reporting and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience conducting data validation and quality checks
  • Fluency in Excel and querying language such as SAS or SQL
  • Curiosity and self-direction
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to ever-changing quality measurement application tools
  • Ability to explain health care quality measures and related processes in layman's terms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and listening skills
  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking abilities


Preferred:



  • Experience working with health care administrative data (medical claims, enrollment, provider data, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Epic EHR systems and reporting features, specifically Epic Payer Platform.
  • Knowledge of the health care industry including but not limited to HEDIS production, health care products, payment systems, operations, policies and procedures
  • Good understanding of statistics


This position is a hub-based role which requires onsite presence. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must reside within a commuting distance to one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI. Onsite frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership and may be up to 2-3 days a week.

The full salary range for this position is $61,500 - $105,400. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
