The Holocaust Community Services (HCS) Care Manager II - Russian Speaking position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated social services professional to work directly with Holocaust Survivors providing financial assistance, case management, and socialization opportunities. Care Managers support survivor clients to maintain independence and dignity as they age, learn and promote awareness about the experiences they endured during the Holocaust, and help address the needs they have today as a result of those experiences.

HCS is a team of approximately 25 talented professionals who strive to provide an affirming and supportive culture in which everyone can grow and thrive. All staff receive group and individual supervision weekly to enhance skills and support professional growth and self-care. In addition, HCS provides opportunities for ongoing professional education as well as reimbursement for CEUs and certifications.

HCS is currently providing both in-person and remote services, and Care Managers have flexibility to determine their schedule with a mix of remote and office-based days. HCS offers a competitive salary, sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits package including affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance, and paid time off including vacation, sick days, and Jewish Holidays.

Compensation: $46,800 per year.

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

The employee has the option to become a dues-paying member of Service Employees International Union Local 73.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Maintain a client caseload, including conducting regular office-based, in-home, or remote assessments of Holocaust survivors' physical, functional, emotional, financial, and environmental systems; determine eligibility for financial assistance and other supportive services; complete documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide ongoing case management, resource linkage, and support services to clients as needed.
  • Participate in weekly individual supervision/case consultation and weekly team meetings.
  • Participate in program planning and implementation, including cultural and socialization programs such as "Cafe Europa," Holocaust commemorations, and holiday and birthday celebrations.
  • Depending on professional interest, may provide counseling and/or co-facilitate survivor support groups or classes.
  • Based on professional interest, may lead or participate in professional presentations and community education; as opportunities arise, may attend trainings and conferences locally or nationally.
  • Other tasks as assigned.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in gerontology, social services, psychology, or other related areas; graduate degree preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Russian with oral and written fluency in both languages
  • Valid driver's license and car required for travel throughout the city and suburbs
  • Minimum 2 years of social services experience
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Sensitive interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of human behavior and experience with older adults preferred
  • Knowledge of trauma and trauma-informed care preferred
  • Understanding and knowledge of local Jewish Communal Activities preferred.
