Payroll Specialist

What You'll Do...

Responsible for processing time, labor and payroll data using Lewis Tree processes and procedures ensuring on-time, accurate employee paychecks.

• Payroll Workflow: Maintains knowledge and compliance of federal, state and local payroll regulations.




• Responsible for preparation of certified payrolls
• Prepares monthly union reporting and payments
• Processes extra compensation payments, off-cycle check requests, pay adjustments and stop payments




• Payroll Processing: Responsible for calculating, processing and reporting various employee payroll taxes and deductions including garnishments, union dues and benefits.




• Responsible for importing and exporting various files within multiple systems.
• Prepares, analyzes and disperses various reports on a regular basis.
• Prepares monthly journal entries and account reconciliations and assists with audits.
• Completes required statistical reports for various agencies
• Communicates with the human resource department and other departments to obtain data to facilitate the completion of time and labor information, retroactive payments and PTO and vacation payouts.
• Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information




• Customer Support: Serves as the point-of-service customer contact for employees by providing information and resolving issues associated with the processing of payroll data.
• Administers and provides detailed report for 401K Compliance.
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping payroll information confidential.

What You'll Need...

• Associates degree or equivalent training or experience
• Two-Five years' experience processing multi-state payroll
• Experience in ERP and HRIS platforms (JDEdwards, Ultimate Software preferred)
• High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• FPC or CPP certification preferred
