Student Intern Opportunities for High School Seniors

30-40 hrs/week April 28, 2025, and May 23, 2025

Are you passionate about igniting positive change in the lives of children and adolescents with Autism and other developmental disabilities? Are you interested in learning about careers in the field of psychology and behavioral science? If your answer is a resounding "yes," then we've got an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Student Intern!

As a Student Intern at our May Center School in Wilmington, you'll be an essential part of our mission to support individuals ages 3-21 with Autism and developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and aspirations. You will have the opportunity to learn about the ways we support these individuals using the methods of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), supporting the team through assisting with tasks such as entering and analyzing behavioral data, creating visual aids to assist with communication and preparing classrooms for learning. You will partner closely with lead teachers to bring individualized educational plans (IEPs) to life, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.

  • Age requirement: Must be 18 years or older to be eligible





  • Education: Pursuing High School Diploma





  • Driver's license: Valid and current U.S. driver's license required





  • Availability: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm(some flexibility available)





  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and empathy towards individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds





  • Qualities: Reliability, compassion, and patience, coupled with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in people's lives





  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to varying needs, preferences, and communication styles of those we support





  • Flexibility: Capacity to adapt to changing environments and respond effectively to unexpected situations
