THE ROLE: Director, Customer Data Platform (CDP)

A+E Networks is seeking a Customer Data Platform (CDP) Director to join our Research Team to power the future of A+E's Audience Insights. In this exciting role, you'll oversee our Customer Data Platform (CDP), enabling the integration and activation of data from across our media ecosystem-from streaming and on-demand to editorial and social. You'll collaborate with marketing, sales, and technology teams to ensure data flows smoothly across systems, empowering real-time personalization, ad targeting, and next-level viewer experiences. Reporting to the SVP of Data and CRM, this role will grow the value of A+E's first party data. PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT & MAINTENANCE

  • Customer Data Strategy: Build and execute roadmap for gaining incremental value from A+E first-party data while aligning with sales and marketing.
  • Profile and Identity Management: Lead efforts in collecting, unifying, and activating customer profiles across channels (web, app, OTT) to ensure accuracy and actionable insights in audience segmentation and personalization.
  • Consent and Privacy Governance: Enforce compliance with privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) by managing customer consent preferences and data deletion requests, keeping customer trust at the forefront of all data operations.
  • Data Schema and Integrity Enforcement: Oversee schema standards, auditing and refining the CDP's data structure to prevent data bloat or duplication, and ensure consistent data across all touchpoints.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Serve as the central point for data requests and alignment across editorial, marketing, technology, and data teams, balancing diverse data needs and driving initiatives that add business value.
  • Data Governance and Taxonomy: Define and manage customer data taxonomy, tagging, and overall flow to optimize data usage aligned with strategic goals.
  • Measurement and Reporting: Collaborate on the development and delivery of dashboards and analytics reports, providing actionable insights to stakeholders across teams.

YOUR STORY: [+BEHAVIORS] (what you need to have) Director, Customer Data Platform (CDP)

  • BA/BS degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or other relevant)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in product management, ideally with a focus on customer data platforms.
  • Experience with leading implementation of CDPs such as Segment, Hightouch, or Rudderstack.
  • Technical understanding of digital/data toolkits such as Snowflake, DataBricks, Adobe Analytics, Ad Servers, etc.
  • Understanding of API integrations and experience with SQL is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data segmentation, identity resolution, and customer journey orchestration
  • Compliance and Privacy Knowledge (GDPR, CCPA) is highly preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact with leadership across business units is essential
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Understanding of consumer-facing businesses and data fluency to drive customer relevance
Compensation Annual Pay Range: $164,949 - $192,990 Annual Incentive Target: 17.50%
