Supervisor, Data Analytics

Job Summary

• Core & Main is looking for a Supervisor, Data Analytics to join our growing Business Intelligence and Analytics team in St. Louis. The role will lead a team of data analysts and will provide the support required to enable informed decisions, help identify risks and opportunities, and achieve financial and operational objectives through the administration and governance of Core & Main's data strategy.
• The Business Intelligence and Analytics team runs all data needs across our entire multi-billion dollar organization. Spanning data ETL, reporting, statistical modeling and business strategy, you will gain a broad spectrum of experience applying your technical data skills, coupled with business acumen, to drive strategy and improve company operations.
• This role will be a good fit for a high energy, proactive candidate with outstanding quantitative, communication and project management skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in ambiguity, while helping drive business strategy. You will have the opportunity to apply your deep understanding of data systems design and analytics to streamline our reporting capabilities and seek automation opportunities across the organization.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Lead and develop a team of 3 - 4 data analytics professionals
• Deploy reporting and analytics that enable data driven insights that drive performance and lead to the accomplishment of key goals
• Implement new decision support solutions that help the business leverage and operationalize analytical insights
• Project manage and deliver large analytic capabilities with multiple business partners on firm deadlines
• Gain a deep understanding of Core & Main's wealth of data as it pertains to reporting and analytics, while suggesting opportunities to fuel growth
• Translate data requirements from key field and functional support leaders into technical requirements and solutions
• Deliver standardized reporting and dashboards, from design to delivery and administration
• Contribute to the organization's transformation strategy by identifying, proposing and leading automation initiatives
• Seek out opportunities to deliver innovative data products
• Support senior management to formalize standard methodologies in accessing and utilizing data across the organization
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical business partners

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience leading and mentoring direct reports
• 5+ years of work experience delivering BI analytics and data solutions, ideally within - or supporting - a finance organization
• Ability to manipulate data, gain insights from large datasets and tell data stories
• Proficient with SQL and visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau
• Ability to effectively manage and deliver on many projects at once within strict deadlines
• Some degree of ability and experience with Python or similar scripting language is a plus
• Natural problem solver: comfortable with data and ambiguity; able to both delve into the details and operational tactics, and engage on the big picture or overall strategy
• Proactive and passionate about results and data integrity
• Capable of independently seeking out information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources and delivering results in complex situations
• Ability to act with limited oversight on a day-to-day basis, balancing multiple priorities
• Ability to adapt and someone who is excited by working in a constantly evolving team
• Stellar communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, impactful recommendations
