Ranked among the top neurology departments in the country by the National Institutes of Health, the UC Irvine Health School of Medicine's Department of Neurology is committed to advancing clinical care, education and research to help patients with diverse neurological conditions. The department's 40 full-time teaching faculty members are highly-experienced clinicians who are devoted to training the next generation of neurologists.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department.

Required:

• Advanced knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
• Ability to identify, collect, and analyze information from multiple sources.
• Advanced ability to effectively present complex finance related information both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
• In depth ability to use multiple spreadsheet and database software tools to gather information for specialized, complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
• Advanced interpersonal skills at all levels within the organization; advanced service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. In depth ability to use organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to function as a member of a team.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred:

• Prior supervisory experience.
