Project Accounting Manager Our client is seeking a Project Accounting Manager to oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition. This individual will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and process improvements while collaborating with Project Managers and Operations to optimize project performance. Responsibilities Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations to develop and implement project controls strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring accurate cost and performance forecasting. Ensure timely monthly revenue calculations in compliance with US GAAP. Review monthly budget/forecast variances and prepare reports for analysis and distribution. Reconcile business line revenue with monthly forecasts. Oversee monthly project forecasting (backlog) and ensure deadlines are met for revenue and backlog submissions. Analyze executed contracts and change orders for accounting implications and anomalies. Partner with Operations to analyze project expenses, explain variances, and enhance budgeting and forecasting models. Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and accounting policies. Perform ad-hoc analyses related to reconciliations, labor expenditures, project hours, working capital, and margin reviews. Attend project meetings, including kick-off and monthly reviews, to ensure proper setup and accurate project status. Monitor project health, including revenues, gross profit, receivables, unbilled amounts, and project closeouts. Work closely with senior leadership to assess results, draft key financial reports, and provide executive summaries with key metrics. Drive organizational improvements by leading functional changes, implementing new project management solutions, and advancing best practices across Project Finance and Accounting. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place and monitor KPIs to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field. Construction experience is preferred. Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Microsoft DataVerse and PowerBI a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Experience leading implementation processes.
