We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer - Advanced Materials Processing, US Northeast.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and be commercially savvy with strong technical skills to lead new business development efforts and sustain the growth of the Air Products' Industrial Gas business in Advanced Materials Processing. The ideal Candidate will be based in the Northeast with a preference for Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, or Allentown PA.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Industrial and Manufacturing Technical Sales experience.

  • Experience in or prior exposure to the industrial gases industry.

  • A willingness to travel 40% of the time, primarily in the Northeastern US.

  • Excellent communication, influencing and teamworking skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across functions and levels, both internally and externally.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver business results including above average profitability on the signing of industrial gas, technology, services, and equipment contracts with Advanced Materials Processing customers. This encompasses applications such as heat treating, annealing, sintering, brazing, additive manufacturing, composites processing and metal fabrication.

  • Provide expert advice to customers and internal business and engineering teams on sizing and specifying systems to supply industrial gases at customer locations.

  • Work closely with local sales, business management, marketing and advanced technology and equipment engineering teams to promote, sell, install, and support differentiated industrial gas applications, technologies, and equipment.

  • Support the development of innovative new offerings, working with marketing and the advanced technology team regarding industry trends and needs, and help bring new offerings to market.

Minimum Hiring Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in metallurgical, material science, mechanical or chemical engineering.

  • An MBA is preferred but is not required.

  • 5 plus years of experience in Advanced Materials Processing in an industrial or manufacturing industry, preferably in the oil and gas, automotive or aerospace manufacturing industries.
