We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with a background in electro-optical systems, gimbals, and experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) domain. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DevOps practices and experience working with QNX or similar real-time operating systems. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced software solutions for mission-critical systems, ensuring high performance and reliability. This position is based out of our Santa Rosa, CA office and is classified as a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position.

Experiences and Background We Look For:

  • Develop and integrate on assigned projects and project tasks to provide software engineering solutions including: software design, documentation, verification and validation, used in evaluating, testing and processing high fidelity electro-optical systems
  • Perform technical review, design analysis, development and selection of hardware and mission critical computer software.
  • Implement DevOps methodologies to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Design and optimize software for real-time systems, leveraging QNX for embedded applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and system architects, to deliver robust solutions.
  • Perform software validation, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure system performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain documentation and adhere to security protocols in classified and unclassified environments.
  • Develop, test, and document software code; support installation into higher level assembly as required.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in software development for electro-optical systems and gimbals.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD pipelines, version control, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with QNX or other real-time operating systems.

The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Other Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.

Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
