System Administrator

Summary:

This position is a mid-level operating position concentrating on the maintaining of IT systems (domains, active directory, email, etc.) and business information infrastructure (data center, security platform, networking devices, etc.) The right candidate for this position will have input and will help guide decisions regarding Uniti's future systems and processes, working in collaboration with other internal stakeholders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall success and support of key IT operations.
• Support and configure our networking hardware consisting of Meraki, Cisco, and HP switches and routers.
• Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative.
• Help guide and recommend platforms and solutions for future growth and support. Input into new VDI infrastructure possibilities and Flash SAN deployment are two imminent projects.
• Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantage.
• Working with various other technical departments to provide efficiencies (Managed Services. Voice team. Production engineering)
• Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights.
• Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking. Developing a Business Continuity plan along with Network and Security is in progress.
• Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or similar. Experience, in lieu of degree will be considered. Degree, in lieu of experience will also be considered.
• 2+ years' experience with managing networks, including understanding of basic networking concepts, to include firewalls and load balancers.
• 2+ years' experience with Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2 or Newer.
• 2+ years' experience with RHEL or CentOS.
• 2+ years' experience with AD/DNS, DHCP, and SMB/CIFS.
• 2+ years' experience with VMware vSphere virtual environments.
• 2+ years' experience with Office365 and Azure AD.
• 2+ years' experience with MS Sql Server and Database management.
• Exposure to monitoring and reporting applications, such as SolarWinds or Microsoft SCOM helpful.
• Working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP, UDP, IP, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Working knowledge of AWS or other cloud environments.

Technical Requirements:

• Management of Windows and Linux operating system environments, to include builds, upgrades, and patch management.
• Management of VMware vSphere virtual infrastructures.
• Management of Cisco UCS server hardware.
• Management of AD/DNS, DHCP, and SMB/CIFS.
• Management of Office365 (Exchange) Implementation.
• Management of Azure Active Directory.
• Management of Cisco Meraki and other networking devices.
• Maintain system documentation and diagrams.
• Must be willing to participate in on-call, after-hours support rotation.
• Must be willing to assist and mentor those members of the team who are less experienced.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
