Work Schedule:

100% FTE; day shift. Monday - Friday; Hours vary 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department

We are seeking a Medication Access Coordinator to:



  • Ensure optimal reimbursement for high cost medications.
  • Conduct and complete necessary third-party prior authorization requests for high cost medications.
  • Pre-screen patients for viable payment sources, manage reimbursement issues associated with high cost injectable medications, identify opportunities for improving reimbursement from payers, and conduct retrospective utilization reviews on cases of denials of payment or insufficient reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Associate's Degree in Health Science, Business or a related field Preferred

Work Experience

  • 2 years of relevant medication prior authorization experience Required
  • 3 years or more previous medication prior authorization experience and claims adjudication experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration Upon Hire Required
  • Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin Preferred

UW Health Pharmacy Services Building - a non-clinical location in Middleton that houses nearly 100 Pharmacy professionals. These employees perform various services and duties, including pharmacy administration, Pharmacy Technician Training Program, pharmacy primary care services, medication prior authorization, sterile and non-sterile compounding, specialty/mail service program and call center.
