The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, is a top-ranked institution located in Orange County, California, dedicated to cultivating leaders for a digitally driven world. The Data and Systems department at the Merage School comprises versatile technology professionals who manage the school's digital infrastructure, business applications, and data flows. The department is responsible for exploring, developing, implementing, administering, integrating, and securing the systems and data that underpin nearly all school activities, including the student lifecycle from recruitment to placement. Your Role on the Team

Under general direction, this position plays a pivotal role in the development, management, and optimization of the Merage School's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) based systems. This role primarily focuses on the Salesforce platform but will include related systems such as event registration, marketing automation, and future CRM-dependent technologies. Responsibilities include data integration, data quality, and process automation to support recruitment, admissions, retention and engagement across the school's CRM operations, ensuring a consistent, intuitive, and secure end-user experience.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $85,400- $103,250 (Annual).

Required:

  • Broad knowledge of various areas of IT.
  • Advanced skills associated with programming design, modification and implementation using technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, .NET Core, Apex, XML, HTML, and CSS. Familiar with modern front-end JavaScript frameworks like Bootstrap, React, or similar. Basic knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to install CRM related software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Understanding of and experience troubleshooting client, server and peripherals-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
  • Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrated experience with database administration centered around CRM specific objects and tasks. Working knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to database system design. Knowledge of database backup/recovery processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of database scripting languages such as T/SQL, SOQL, and SOSL, including advanced query writing, stored procedures, views, and database design principles; proficient in optimizing complex queries and automating database tasks.
  • Familiarity with logical data design and data mapping or data conversion and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software. Demonstrated skill at administering moderately complex security controls and configurations to computer hardware, software and networks.
  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
  • Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent / related functions.
  • Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in and outside the organization. (i.e., faculty, staff, students, teaching assistants, affiliates, etc.) Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with CRM-based marketing automation tools like Pardot or Marketing Cloud, including designing, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing automated campaigns with segmented audiences and personalized content to drive engagement and conversions.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful knowledge seeker who rapidly advances skills through independent learning opportunities to research, test, and explore creative business and technical solutions to broaden individual and collective expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple IT projects simultaneously and navigating through various project phases to ensure completion on time and on budget. Ability to lead a project through discovery, exploration, adoption, implementation, deployment, and evaluation.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industry with 3+ years at tier 3 level preferably in an academic environment.
  • Experience administering an enterprise CRM technology such as SalesForce.com, Dynamics, or Oracle CX, or similar platforms.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with various reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Cognos.
  • Experience using higher education recruitment and admissions software such as TargetX, Slate, Ellucian Recruit, Salesforce Education Cloud, CampusNexus, or similar.
