Position Overview

The Supervisor, Materials Management will supervise a variety of site materials functions including, but not limited to, planning, cycle counting, and SAP material management. The Supervisor, Materials Management will oversee receipt of materials, purchase requisitions, material movements, Kanban development and replenishment, and will facilitate other internal inventory requests for goods and supplies. The Supervisor, Materials Management will also supervise ongoing process and procedure improvement, characterization, and validation. This position will help develop, establish, and document new procedures for assigned site materials management. This position will also be responsible for hiring and training.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Receive, verify, and inspect inventory, as required.
  • Deliver incoming materials, as required.
  • Facilitate logistics for incoming or outgoing materials or samples.
  • Assist with forecasting of and performing change control for consumables and reagent materials used in the lab.
  • Maintain inventory and associated records for raw materials, intermediates, disposables, consumables, reagents, and spare parts.
  • Ensure requisition materials maintain designated inventory levels.
  • Prepare quality records, as directed, according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) or study protocols.
  • Package or re-configure materials for staging or use in testing laboratories or production areas, following approved procedures.
  • Perform inventory control of non-conforming materials.
  • Act as a back-up for work order creation and inventory management in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Handle products using material handling equipment.
  • Develop, edit, and provide input for policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Lead process improvements by following the required change control processes.
  • Coordinate activities across departments.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to backorder situations.
  • Represent supply chain operations on inter-departmental projects, as assigned.

  • Ability to work seated for approximately 40% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 60% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 65% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials; including, but not limited to, chemicals, radioactivity, and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability and means to travel between Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain (or related field as outlined in the essential duties); or High School Degree/General Education Degree and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or material handling related operation.
  • 3+ years of experience with database, spreadsheets, and statistical programs.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing SAP for inventory management or other ERP systems.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in team situations, cross-functionally, as well as independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
  • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
  • No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc. in the last 36 months.
  • No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Exact Sciences to what Exact Sciences deems to be an unacceptable level of liability.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a biotech manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP and/or ISO13485 environment.
  • Experience with DOT, IATA/ICAO and Dry Ice regulations.
  • Experience in developing and tracking departmental metrics.
  • Forklift certified.

Salary Range:

$74,000.00 - $118,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
