We're looking for a Systems Engineer to join our innovative team and contribute to the development and validation of cutting-edge flow cytometry instruments and assays. If you're passionate about cross-functional collaboration, solving complex challenges, and driving impactful advancements in medical device technology, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

Lead Product Development

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support technical product development, system integration, and verification/validation (V&V) of cell analyzers, sorters, and assays.
  • Develop requirements and specifications to define system functionality and ensure design feasibility.

Drive Testing Excellence

  • Create and execute test methods and protocols to confirm compliance with product requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback on software workflows and instrument performance to refine product development.
  • Analyze and interpret data to ensure the product meets specifications and regulatory standards.

Innovate and Troubleshoot

  • Offer technical expertise to troubleshoot complex flow cytometry instruments.
  • Leverage user workflow insights to recommend product improvements and enhance usability.

Collaborate and Communicate

  • Serve as a bridge between Systems and R&D teams, effectively describing challenges and aligning on solutions.
  • Support design transfer activities, risk management, and regulatory compliance evaluations.
What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: BS/MS in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in product development for medical devices or in vitro diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry or hematology technology.
  • Proficiency in writing and managing requirements and specifications.
  • Broad understanding of electrical, mechanical, optical, software, and biomedical engineering principles with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with Human Factors and Usability Engineering standards.
  • Hands-on experience with System Engineering tools like Jira, JMP, TestRail, or HelixALM.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of flow cytometry principles.
  • Experience with risk management and design transfer activities.
  • Hands-on experience with Cytek Aurora and Spectro-Flo software.
  • Leadership experience managing small teams (3-4 individuals).

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in environments involving biological materials (human blood or cells), high-energy light sources (lasers), and voltage systems.
