Overview

As a Product Engineer on the CAD/BIM team at Esri, you will leverage your expertise in GIS, CAD, and BIM technologies to enhance and support the integration of CAD/BIM datasets into the ArcGIS platform. You will collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to design, test, and troubleshoot innovative solutions that empower users to seamlessly incorporate CAD and BIM data into their GIS workflows.

Responsibilities



  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for integrating CAD datasets (such as AutoCAD, MicroStation) and BIM data into ArcGIS Pro
  • Test and validate software enhancements, identify bugs, and ensure that high-quality solutions meet user needs
  • Provide thought leadership by designing workflows and best practices for users working with CAD/BIM data in GIS
  • Collaborate with development teams to design new features, enhancements, and tools for CAD/BIM workflows in ArcGIS Pro
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations on CAD/BIM topics at Esri User Conferences and industry events
  • Develop and lead training seminars to educate users and stakeholders on CAD/BIM data integration and analysis within ArcGIS
  • Work closely with product engineers, developers, and support teams to maintain and improve product quality


Requirements



  • 5+ years of experience in GIS utilizing ArcGIS software
  • Demonstrated knowledge in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related CAD/BIM software, with a focus on GIS workflows
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver innovative solutions for integrating CAD/BIM data into GIS platforms
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience delivering technical sessions at conferences and seminars
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams, take ownership of tasks, and contribute to overall product quality
  • Bachelor's in geography, GIS, information technology, computer science, or a related field


Recommended Qualifications



  • Proficiency in the ArcGIS platform and 3D visualization workflows
  • Experience in automating AutoCAD (Autolisp and/or AutoCAD .NET API)
  • Used ArcGIS for AutoCAD API to create custom tools used in Autodesk products
  • Experience with Agile software development methods (Scrum, and more)
  • Master's in geography, GIS, information technology, computer science, or a related field
