THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Drug Alcohol Programs is looking for a Budget Section Chief to provide overall management of the department's state budget. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Budget Section Chief, you will be responsible overseeing the daily operations of the Budget Section by determining departmental needs and executing these needs within state and federal requirements. Work includes overseeing the establishment of new state and federal appropriations, federal single audit requests, as well as state and federal year-end close out processes. You will have the opportunity to provide budgetary analysis and technical assistance to agency staff, while also serving as point-of-contact for the Governor's Budget Office. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and approving all budget, revenue, and funding adjustments for state and federal funds
  • Establishing policies and procedures
  • Coordinating the completion of budget waivers

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to report in-office at minimum one day per month and for special events. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 3; or
  • Three years of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
