Summary
The Equipment Operator operates heavy-duty construction equipment to perform a variety of duties including dust control (Rule310), site trash collection, excavation/backfill, road sweeping/dust control, landfill maintenance and chemical spill cleanup. Minimum Requirements
High school/GED plus two years of experience in the operation of heavy-duty construction equipment such as front-end loader, backhoe, grader, scraper, Caterpillar Mac 9 truck tank and front loading rubbish truck. Arizona Commercial Driver's License may be required. Major Accountabilities
1) Performs chemical spill cleanup using all safety equipment and procedures. 2) Maintain Water Resources sludge drying beds. Perform decanting activities and initiate EPA approved paint filter tests to handle cooling tower sludge being disposed of in designated landfill. 9) Proficient in operation of front-loading rubbish truck as a bi-weekly maintenance activity. 10) Proficient in operation of Caterpillar Mac 9 truck tank as a daily maintenance activity. For positions at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Stations (PVNGS) all openings will require applicants to be a U.S. person. Plant/FieldRole: Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours. Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified. |
