Company: Confidential Position: Buyer Location: Cincinnati, OH Job Summary: The Buyer will assist and participate in the purchase of raw materials, tools, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies, and ensure quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Issue all purchase orders for commodities within responsibility, and monitor open purchase orders within ERP system Verify that all orders have been properly acknowledged by the vendor, and update records consistently in ERP system Follow up with the vendor on all past due orders Source the best products for the best price from a reliable vendor Assure that the acquisition of all good or services will meet material requirements as well as specifications Track and maintain proper levels of stocked inventory Provide Account Management with reliable material quotes Initiate and implement process improvement initiatives for department Handle any material needs for other Monti Inc. sites that have been assigned to you Assist in the returning of Rejected material to the vendor Evaluate procurement data and monitor key supply chain metrics Complete other duties as assigned by manager. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to cooperate with team members/leaders Strong people skills Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites or related software Positive attitude, goal-oriented, and ability to work with minimal supervision Dependable, flexible, and ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment Ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in material management, business management or work equivalent Engineering and/or manufacturing background helpful Physical Requirements: Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dirt, dust, and mobile equipment Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs. Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time Simultaneously mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area
