Lead Firmware Engineer (SA-0615)

Location: Tubis Technology Inc. in San Diego, CA 92111

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1) Develop firmware and Application Programming Interface (API) for Radio Unit (RU) of the 5G New Radio (NR) base station for the Telecommunication Networks.

2) Develop the device drivers and embedded software for the beamforming integrated circuits and peripherals, Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) drivers/objects, and API.

3) Develop the configuration and operation software including real-time and non-real-time control for the phased-array antenna module and Radio Unit of the 5G base Station related to the specifications of the Open Ran (ORAN) control plane and management plane.

4) Work with microcontroller or embedded processor devices and use C, C++, Python, and Linux.

5) Interface to various peripheral devices such as Power Management and Power Supply modules, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), and customer application-specific integrated circuit/radio-frequency integrated circuit (ASIC/RFIC).

6) Debug embedded real-time software systems.

7) Work with millimeter Wave (mmW) Technologies.

8) Work with 3GPP 5G NR specifications/protocols and ORAN specifications/protocols, including implementing related specifications and protocols.

9) Work with ARM core, bootloader, RTOS, or Bare Metal development environment.

10) Work with IP address, Port Setting, Shell (SSH) protocol. Implement and report on key scheduling, control processing in tight timelines, latency, and energy constraints.

11) Make presentations that include accurate test results, data, and clear conclusions on a variety of firmware topics.

12) Work to build the most power- and cost-optimized solution for a given system performance, to include working daily with both hardware and software.

13) Define methodologies and standard methodologies for the teams and train other team members.

14) Implement configuration and control processing of the phased-array antenna module and interface to controller in tight timeline, latency and energy constraints.

15) Initiate, configure, and monitor power supply module.

16) Perform and control the calibration of the RFIC and phased-array antenna during the foreground operation.

17) Perform and control the lab/chamber calibration of the phased-array antenna module testing and pattern measurement.

18) Confer with and support the experienced cross-disciplinary staff to consider innovative product solutions.

19) Collaborate with digital FPGA design and chip implementation teams as well as third-party suppliers to define analog and digital requirements.

Qualifications:

1. Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

2. Seven years of experience in embedded system programming.

3. Work experience to include: (1) Seven years of experience in ARM-based micro-controller embedded software development, including real time control system with Real Time Operating System (RTOS) or Bare Metal based software system. (2) Developing embedded real time control software and API for microcontroller-based equipment. (3) Working with micro controller powered devices. (4) Debugging embedded software systems using JTAG and GDB tools. (5) Working with device drivers for embedded peripherals including SPI, I2C, UART, USB, DMA, ADC, Timers, and Schematics review.

4. Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.

5. 40 hours/week.

6. Salary: $157,206.00 to $195,102.60/yr.
